Air Canada Reveals Overhauled Cabins With Lie-flat Seats On Single-aisle Jets, New Premium Suites

Air Canada has unveiled a major cabin redesign — described as the most significant in its history — introducing a new “Glowing Hearted” interior that will debut on its upcoming Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-10 planes.

The redesigned interiors were presented at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, showcasing upgrades across all travel classes, including larger entertainment screens, redesigned seating, and new premium suites for long-haul comfort.

A key highlight is the Airbus A321XLR, which will become the first single-aisle aircraft in Canada to feature lie-flat signature class seats. The aircraft is expected to enter service soon, opening new transatlantic routes and enhancing premium travel on longer North American flights.

The Boeing 787-10 will introduce the new Air Canada Signature Plus Suite — offering more space, increased privacy, a larger bed, and a dedicated guest seat. Some centre suites will also include retractable privacy panels, allowing up to four passengers to share a connected space during flights.

Across all cabins, passengers will benefit from ergonomic seating with more personal space, larger 4K OLED entertainment screens, Bluetooth audio, and both USB-C and AC power outlets at every seat. Premium Economy will gain enhanced privacy features, and overhead storage bins will be expanded.

The cabin design reflects Canadian identity, incorporating wood-grain finishes, bronze accents, leather textures, and subtle red stitching. On the A321XLR, passengers will board under a maple leaf-inspired illuminated canopy, while the 787-10 features an entryway inspired by Canadian waterways.

The redesign is part of a broader fleet modernization effort. Aircraft under Air Canada Rouge will receive updated interiors, while Air Canada Express, operated by Jazz, will also introduce cabin upgrades and next-generation free Wi-Fi.

Air Canada says it will later unveil updated onboard hospitality offerings — including food, beverages, and service — as part of a fully reimagined travel experience rooted in Canadian identity.
